Abbot of Sirimangala Cittasukha Monastery
Venerable Dr Candamukha received higher ordination as a Buddhist monk in 1995 under the preceptor the Most Venerable UKkatthabhivamsa. Having lived and studied Pali canonical literatures and commentaries for 17 years in different monastic education centers in Myanmar, received “Sasanadhadhaja Dhammacariya” (Teacher-ship in Dhamma of Sasana’s banner) title and “Vinaya-Vidu” (Scholar of Monastic Discipline) title.Then studied at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary university for ten years, received Diploma in Buddha-Dhamma, BA in Buddha-Dhamma, MA in Buddha-Dhamma, and PhD in Buddha-Dhamma degrees. Practiced meditation under the guidance of late Saddhammaramsi Sayadaw, the most Venerable Kundalabhivamsa. In 1997, establishes a monastic education center named Sirimangala Cittasukha Monastery, at hometown and teaches young novices and junior monks there. From 2003 up to now, teaches monastic disciplines (Vinaya), Discourses ((Suttanta), Abhidhamma subjects to international students at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University, Yangon, Myanmar. In 2010, worked as a researcher at Dhammachai Tipitaka Project, Thailand. In addition, gives lectures on Buddhist Ethics and Philosophy in other three local universities.
