Brief Resume of Ven. Dodamduwe Obhasa,

Venerable Dodanduwe Obhāsa is a Sri Lankan monk and he was born on 02nd November 1989 and stayed in Galle District Sri Lanka. He studied at Dharmāshoka College, Ambalangoda and entered to the Engineering Faculty of University of Moratuwa in 2010 after the Advanced Level Exam. He gained the Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2015. Then he worked as an Electrical Engineer for four years and decided to become a monk. Venerable Dodanduwe Obhāsa ordained as a novice on October 20th 2019, at Labunoruvakanda Forest Monastery, Maradankadawala which is one of the main branches of the Rajarata Saṃgha sabhā, Rohaṇa Pārshavaya, belongs to Siyam Nikāya. Then he moved to Nā Uyana Forest Monastery, Kurunegala and he received his higher ordination in 20th June 2020 in Kaḷyāṇi Yogashrama Saṃsthā which belongs to Ramañña Nikāya. During the first year, he dwelled at Nā Uyana Forest Monastery, under the guidance of Most Venerable Mīgoda Saṅghasobhana Mahā Thera, and Most Venerable Angulgamuwe Ariyananda Mahā Thera. He practised Samatha meditation at Nā Uyana Forest Monastery, Sri Lanka. During the first year, he studied Vinaya, Pāḷi and Abhidhamma at Nā Uyana Dharmāyatana under the guidance of Venerable Nāwalapitiye Nārada Thera. |
