About Sonam Wangchok, Ph.D.

Dr. Sonam Wangchok is a research scholar from Ladakh. He is the founder of Himalayan Cultural Heritage Foundation (HCHF) and the president of International Association for Ladakh Studies (IALS). Additionally, he is the editor of “Heritage Himalaya,” a biannual publication devoted to the Himalayan region’s cultural heritage. He was most recently appointed the Ladakh Cultural Forum’s president. He has a long list of national and international publications and paper presentations to his name. He works actively and selflessly for the preservation of Ladakh’s cultural legacy and is a member of numerous national and international organizations.
